Fantasy World Creation

Most who play RPGs usually decide to create their own Campaign World to adventure in or to just write stories about. You might ask, "how do I go about it?" There are no specific rules for such a project and numerous ways to go about it.

Create the gods and goddesses first, detailing their relationship to each other and describe why they created this particular world.
Start with the 'Extreme' beginning. Something like the 'Big Bang Theory' and have the gods and goddesses spring from this.
Write a history of a specific region and expand out from there.
Draw a world map, naming the oceans, mountain chains, and land masses.
Develope a community and its immediate surroundings, then keep adding to it.

As you can see, there are any number of ways to start creating your Campaign World. The tools required is your imagination, a pen and some paper or a computer. Remember, this is your world, your creation. Anything can happen if you want it to.

For the purpose of this little project, I'll be starting with a World Map created in Fractal Terrains.

I call this world Tarumar. The major races are humans, wulfin, elves, half-elves, dwarves and gnomes. For monster races, the main ones are gnolls, kobolds, orcs, goblins.
